Asslamalaikum, Readers! May you have peaceful minds and loving hearts:
See for your convenience to understand what I am trying to say, I quote an example:
We were discussing about the issues with Dyslexia and the most commonly discussed and believed issue with this disorder is thought to be lack in Memory retention. In my last write up I was submitting my humble opinion, rather observation based on experience, that it's not actually the problem of Memory retention, as for example when we say that their Long Term Memory, in most of the cases, is excellent , far better than ordinary brain, a question rises how come they could save memories of long time periods when they instantly forget two or three step instructions?
See for your convenience to understand what I am trying to say, I quote an example:
I have a box having 10 cubicles and I put different items in each cubicle. Sometimes I put some item A in irrespective place by mistake or in some hurry and when I need that item I have to search more than one cubicle because it was not kept in the proper place. Now it takes more time and consumes more energy to get the item back in my hands, so what do I do, I commit another mistake that I put another item B into wrong or irrespective cubicle in hassle of finding the first one. In all this exercise I can't say that my box didn't have it as I placed it myself but it was not there it it's relevant place when I needed it. At some other time when I will search for item B, I would be surprised to find item A in B's block or cubicle, but it would be again another exercise to search for B.
Anyway I hope you understand now that its not Memory retention problem or issue, it's a bit different phenomenon. Actually it's problem with the Retention in Memory. Now I would elaborate what's difference between the two. Consider our brain as a Box that has many blocks or cubicles and folds in it. There is ample space for whatever we want to place and save but everyone of us has one's own priority line of placing and saving things and information. We make our selection of items to be placed in whatever order we wish and then place the selected material in order . As much we put effort as better we can get and place. But the most important thing to be mentioned here is that whatever we collect and place, we don't make use of all as a normal pattern. I mean we gather different knowledge at different stages of life and we dump it our Box but we recollect what we require in our lives and place it in front blocks. We , normally, don't go back to rear blocks or reshuffle things unless rarely we fell into dire need of something for research or the sort.
Now coming back to Retention of Memory, the problem opens up when memory is there but placed in wrong blocks. It's not like Memory could not be retained but it's actually retention was misplaced, mismanaged and dislocated. It's all what I learned from personal experiences and live observations. We start guessing about anything instantly after we read something about a matter or after viewing something on screens but we forget a major fact about ourselves that whatever we do is under the control of the same Box mentioned above. We could not evaluate it's actual worth yet. We'll talk, later, about it's worth in Dyslexia.(Insha Allah)
